Police in movies

Has everyone else noticed that whenever there is a superior officer in a movie that the hero cop has to sit down with to be briefed its always a black guy? I remember someone talking about it on the TV once but i cant remember the reason they gave for it.

Does anyone have any theories?

I dont see how it could be PC anyways becos its always the senior cop... if it was just happening to be a black guy for the sake of having more black guys then it would be all sorts or jobs. Theres gotta be more to it...

Notice how in movies there are alot of afro-american and female presidents... i think its more along those lines where by becos its never happened they write it like that to be different from reality. Perhaps there are a lack of black guys in the higher ranks of the police force?

It might help to povide examples of movies you notice this in.
Some I can think of off the top of my head that DONT do this are:

SERPICO
LETHAL WEAPON SERIES
L.A. CONFIDENTIAL
SEA OF LOVE
BASIC INSTINCT

I'm betting most of the films you do notice it in are Hollywood crap where authenticity isn't a priority.

Do you bring this up because you think it's a false representaton of reality?

You and I do live in very different countries, though. So we have different observations.

i can only think of last action hero and that guy was great, but i seem to remember him playing the same role elsewhere,

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">To suggest political correctness was invented in 70s is ludicrous. It may have come to the forefront of modern values during that time period, but its current form has existed for nearly a century.

Lets face it, the purpose of political correctness is to force people to think, speak and act in accordance with leftist ideology, even though that ideology conflicts with reality. Coercing non-believers to accept leftist ideology is NOTHING NEW.
